Both the literacy timeline and webbing exercise. These activities helped me think back on important times in my life that have to do with literacy. I remember the fond memories and the ones I don’t like to think as much about. Either way, they helped me remember an important part of writing which caused me to think differently about my ability. I talk about this moment in my Literacy Analysis.
The revision of my Literacy Narrative was quite different than any other revision I’ve done before. This time I really focused on global issues and before the focus was normally on surface level issues. I feel that focusing on global issues made me work harder and had me really thinking about to make my paper the best that I could. I am proud of my final product. I have never made so many changes to a writing assignment before. They were good changes. This Literacy Narrative really came full circle, especially with my audio portion. I was very skeptical about recording myself for a podcast, especially since others in my class would have to listen to it. Actually, I think it was worst when I had to listen to my own voice. I’m very happy that my mom was visiting this past weekend, so I could interview her for this project. It made me feel better knowing that it wouldn’t be just me talking for two minutes straight. I also think that having her view point on growth and fixed mindsets and how they apply to me helped the reader/listener understand my literacy. She is the person who knows the most about me and my schooling, because she has been there since the beginning. Even though I don’t like hearing myself, I really like hearing what my mom has to say and I believe others will too.
