Planning Change

I am hopeful that this team dissemination project will go smoothly. I can’t say that I know exactly how we will do it, but I do know that we can work together and get it done to the best of our abilities. Although we are in other courses, I like to give my best work to each class. I’m hoping my group members are willing to do the same. We have set up a group chat and have used it for EBP and clinical purposes. This always seems to be the best way to keep in touch with a group. I haven’t done a lot of work with this particular group of classmates prior to clinical and EBP, but I feel as though we all get along and can work together efficiently.

I hold myself to a high standard when it comes to school, and I keep myself accountable. I wouldn’t be okay with slacking off and making my other teammates do extra work, because I’m not holding up my end. I think if we keep communication open and discuss our roles, we can complete this project on time and with dedication. If we find that there is a group member not participating or putting in work, I think we need to first try asking them if there is a reason. Maybe there’s something going on that we are not aware of, or maybe they are too overwhelmed with school. Either way, I’d be willing to help them with whatever I can and continue to keep the project going. Maybe a few team members can help get that portion of the work done or help the assigned person with it. It’s hard to say exactly what we would do in a situation like that, but I do believe that we would be able to work through it together.

I can think of a few possible barriers to completing this project, like becoming familiar with each other and the stress of school. I’m used to working with a few people in our class and none of them are in my group this semester. I’m not opposed to working with other people, but it can be comforting to work with people that you are closer to and knowing how you work together. I think this team can get there, especially since we are in clinical together. Being together in a hospital setting can really bring a group together. I can already see how we have gotten more comfortable together in the 2 weeks we’ve spent at clinical. I think if we keep communication open and discuss our work, we can complete a thoughtful dissemination project. The same should go if any of us are feeling overwhelmed or stressed about school. We can talk about it and work through it together. Support from peers can be extremely helpful, especially since we are all going through our courses together. We’ve already talked about some of our worries for this semester and I’m sure that’ll continue throughout the semester. This kind of communication and support will be important as we go our separate ways and start working. We can bring this collaborative and supportive approach to our floors and strive for a healthy working environment to better both staff and patients.
