Reflection on Modules 1 & 2

The two Nursing Modules, Testing and Remediation Strategies and
Nursing Concepts, had many valuable lessons and tips to help with nursing school and clinal experience.

The Testing and Remediation Module explained the importance of adequately preparing for and using test taking strategies to help with test taking. I normally study a lot and feel prepared for exams, but I still learned tips of better ways to focus on certain parts of questions by using STEM and eliminating distractor answers. These tips have opened my eyes to how to properly read and then answer test questions no matter the format.

The Nursing Concepts Module went into the details of the ATI Helix of Success. Client-centered care, priority setting, and client education are 3 of the 10 bars on the helix. Client-centered care stuck out to me, because I see nursing as a profession where you are dedicated to the client and devoted to helping them. This section spoke about the nursing process and advocacy, which I have heard before in previous classes. One of my goals as a student and future nurse, is to give all of my clients the best quality care and be the advocate they need. Priority setting is another huge part of nursing in a clinical setting and it helps with test taking. As a nurse, you have so many important tasks to fulfill, and it is crucial to do them in an order that is best for the clients. Client education is yet another role of the nurse. Whether it be teaching the client and their family how to cope with a newly diagnosed illness, or teaching how to adhere to a medication regimen, nurses are constantly being teachers to their clients. It is important for nurses to fully understand what they are teaching, to maintain the safety of all clients.

The Nursing Modules, along with the quizzes at the end, have helped prepare me more for what is to come in school and even further into my future. I will utilize the testing and remediation tools for tests given in school and on the NCLEX. The nursing concepts in the ATI Helix of Success will also serve me in school, clinical, and as a working RN. I will work diligently to fully understand my roles as a nurse and serve my clients to the best of my ability!

Good work. I appreciate hearing you give examples of what you learned in each module and how you will apply. Please be aware however, that there is little contrast between the font color and the background, so it does make it more difficult to read (old eye!).
