Preparation for Licensure: Med/Surg CAT

This Medical Surgical CAT went well for me. I feel as though I spent an adequate amount of time on each question. My average time was 0:46 seconds, which seems faster than I would have expected. I went to 75 questions, and I was focused throughout the test. I do tend to get tired and less focused when I go past 75 questions. Although I feel good about this CAT, there is always room for improvement, and I am always looking for ways to do better. I did this while at home over break, where I do not currently have a desk to work at. I went from the couch to the kitchen table. I do believe that this could have led to some distraction, because I wasn’t in a “test-like environment”.  Now that I’m back at school, I will take the following ATI exams at my desk, free of distractions from my family. I will be sure to sit up at my desk like in any other test and not be persuaded by my comfortable bed. For next time, I want to continue taking my time and not rushing. I will be sure to take a break if my mind starts wandering or I go past 75 questions. Overall, I am happy with my performance, and I will continue setting goals for myself to help prepare for the NCLEX.
