Nurses can hold many different titles to many different people. They may be caretakers, advocates, life-savers, or even superheroes. In this picture the young boy has a basket of superheroes and one happens to be a nurse. Nurses are there for their patients unlike any other healthcare provider. They spend the most time with their clients and really get to know them and their conditions. Nurses are able to spot the tiny changes that can lead to saving someone’s life. I think the title superhero encases every aspect of a nurse’s role. Yes, they advocate, take care of people, and save lives, so superhero is the perfect name. Nurses don’t need superpowers like flying, or super strength, because they have the heart and knowledge to carefully care for their patients. A nurse may not feel like a superhero, maybe they just feel like they’re doing their job. However, from experience, I can say that nurses have the ability to be a real-life superhero. They work in magical ways to comfort and care for patients and families.
It’s a great drawing, but you need to give the artist credit. Your interpretation of the drawing is solid and I agree that many nurses do not feel like they are superheroes. They do what they do because it brings them job and satisfaction. Thanks for sharing!
I really enjoyed reading your post and love the artwork you chose. I think you did a great job using this artwork to make meaningful connections between art and nursing. I agree with your point that nurses may not always feel like superheroes. The art that I chose is very different in comparison to yours, however, I also used my art to explain the importance of nurses.
