This may have been my best CAT yet! I was surprised when I finished at 75 questions and got my score back. Throughout this test I kept thinking that it was quite a bit more challenging than the practice A & B tests that I had previously completed for Maternity. I wasn’t feeling as confident in my answers, but I just tried to pull all the knowledge I have from lecture and clinical. 71% is much better than I expected and it’s one of my higher scores for CATs. I guess I knew more than I was giving myself credit for. I was also sure not to change any of my initial answers, even if I started second guessing myself. This has been a recent problem for me, and I need to stop making the same mistakes. I remember my mom telling me when I was younger to always go with my first instinct answer and never change it. I need to think back to that while test taking! The amount of time I took on each question was 0:36 seconds, which is less time than my average. I think that has to do with going with my gut and not overthinking. I plan to continue my studying habits and staying on top of my work, as to not get overwhelmed with this final semester of nursing school. I’m hoping that I can take the strategies I used in this test for my upcoming ATI exams and lecture exams.
