Quoting Twenge

Jean M. Twenge is an American psychologist who researches generational differences.  In her article, Have Smartphones Destroyed a Generation?, Twenge maintains that “social media use, does indeed cause unhappiness.”  In other words, Twenge believes that kids who are online everyday, especially on social media, are more likely to be unhappy which can possibly lead to mental health concerns like anxiety and depression.  Although I agree with Twenge to an extent, I cannot agree that every person who uses social media is unhappy.  Many people can fall down a hole of comparing themselves to others on social media, and this would certainly cause unhappiness that can lead to mental health concerns.  On the other hand, there are still people who use social media to an extent that isn’t harmful to their health.  What really matter is how often you use it and how you think about it.

It was a really good post. All of the parts needed are in the post. I agree with what you said in your post. Even though she may be right to a degree, its not necessarily black and white.
